Shop Tour

Our shop is located at 1041 N. Orange Dr., Hollywood, CA, 90046. We have moved in around June 2004. The space is not very big - around 600 sq.ft., but it is quite enough for our type of work.

Hail to the Power Tools!

As you can see, we employ some powertools in the production process, like table-saw, band-, and scroll-saw, various routers and sanders; and, of course, Alex's personal favorite - planner. Unlike some other luthiers that opt for working with a hand saw, a chiesel and a piece of sand-paper, we believe that the use of powertools is more than justified by the diffence in final quality of the product. In other words, the guitars just look nicer.

It's All in the Wood

Also in one of the pictures you can see our wood stock: figured maple, wallnut, musical myrtlewood, purpleheart, padauk, and Anastasia's choice: chakhte kok, which we haven't seen being used by any other luthier so far. You can find the full selection of our wood choices on the new wood page.
